To begin, inject 0.5 mg once a week for 4 weeks. It should be injected subcutaneously (under the skin) on your stomach area (abdomen), upper thigh, or upper arm. It can be injected at any time of the day, without regard to meals. If you find you're not tolerating this dose well, lower it to 0.25 mg per week.
After four weeks, increase the dose by 0.5 mg, making it a total of 1 mg once a week, for 4 weeks.
The dose can be increased again after that to the maximum recommended dose of 2 mg per week.
It should be stored in the refrigerator between 36-48°F (2-8°C). The ideal storage is the top shelf of your refrigerator, away from the cooling elements.
